PPCGotcha

For US private-label sellers who run their own Amazon ads

Find the money leaking out of your Amazon ads.

Upload the reports you already download. PPCGotcha returns a 0–100 health score from six rate components. The free check is diagnostic: it does not write a bid, a negative, or a pause.

Three steps. No Amazon login.

  1. 1

    Download the reports

A placement report and a Sponsored Products bulk file are the pair this check is built around. Search terms, a targeting report, a campaign report, and gross and invalid traffic make more of the score calculable. Legacy names and Unified Reporting names both work. A Sponsored Brands bulk is read when you include it.

  2. 2

Enter a target CPA, then upload

Target CPA is per portfolio and ad type (Sponsored Products or Sponsored Brands). Parts of the score that need it stay “not calculated” until you enter one. We do not guess it.

  3. 3

    Read the score

Six components: spend at or under the target, verified inefficiency, structural hygiene, harvest coverage, settings risk, and data quality. Dollars on a finding are estimates. Nothing is sent to Amazon.

Six parts of the health score.

If a report or a target CPA is missing, that part says not calculated. We do not invent the number.

  • Spend at or under target CPA

Weight 30. The share of mature placement spend whose campaign CPA is at or under the portfolio target. Needs a target CPA. The confidence weight is our default.

  • Verified inefficiency

Weight 25. Spend that clears the no-sale test, or that converts above the target CPA. Ranking, Launch, and Defense names are left out of this dollar headline. Strong and strategic terms are pending a definition, so they are left out too.

  • Structural hygiene

Weight 15. Duplicate targeting, an enabled ad group with no live ad, and a paused campaign that is still spending. No pause is written.

  • Harvest coverage

Weight 10. Converting search terms that are not exact and have no enabled exact keyword of the same text in the campaign. Diagnostic only.

  • Settings risk

Weight 10. Off-Amazon tested at 95% confidence against the same portfolio target, rule-based bidding above the target (marked, not changed), placement excess, and a short list of Amazon defaults. The test family and the default list are our defaults.

  • Data quality

Weight 10. Report totals within 1%, the last 3 days left out of decisions, a window of about 30 days, and a loud failure when a column is unknown.

One product. The price follows ad spend.

Every paid plan includes the same Watchdog: the full findings, the download of a diagnostic workbook, upload history, a diff between two uploads, a weekly email to upload fresh files, and Amazon-change alerts. The tier is the monthly ad spend we measure in your reports.

Questions worth answering before you upload.

Do you connect to my Amazon account?

Not in this version. You download the files from Amazon Ads and upload them here. We never ask for your Amazon password.

Will you change my bids?

No. PPCGotcha does not sign in to Amazon. A fix file is a spreadsheet. Nothing changes until you upload it in Bulk operations.

What if a row in the file is wrong?

Delete that row before you upload, or upload the revert file afterward. New negatives do not have a Keyword ID until Amazon accepts them, so the revert for those rows archives by campaign, ad group, and keyword text. A later bulk download is the clean way to confirm the ID.

Which column names do you read?

Both the legacy Sponsored Ads names and Unified Reporting. Customer Search Term and Search term are the same field. 7 Day Total Orders (#) and Purchases are the same field. Spend and Total cost are the same field.

How is the score calculated?

Six rates, weighted 30, 25, 15, 10, 10, and 10: spend at or under your target CPA, verified inefficiency, structural hygiene, harvest coverage, settings risk, and data quality. A missing target CPA leaves the parts that need it as not calculated, and the score uses only the parts that ran. Turning a rate into points, and rescaling when a part is missing, is our default. The finding stores the formula that ran on your file.

What does the free plan include?

One check per calendar month, after you sign up with an email. You see the score and every finding, including dollar values. A guest sees the score and the finding titles only. Fix and revert files, history, the diff, the weekly reminder, and Amazon-change alerts are Watchdog. A second check in the same calendar month asks you to start Watchdog. The month is counted in UTC, which is our default.

What if my spend is higher than the plan I bought?

We recommend the tier that matches the spend in the upload. If a later file is above the plan you pay for, we ask you to move up. We do not turn the check off.

Do you have Hebrew?

Yes. The site, the findings, and the emails. Campaign names and search terms stay as they are in the file, including when the rest of the page is right to left.

Run the free check on last month’s files.

One Health Score a month on the free plan. The files stay private. Raw uploads are deleted after 90 days.
